What is Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's is a neurodegenerative disease leading to shaking and stiffness which leads to difficulty with walking, balance and coordination. Nerve cells in the area of the brain that control movement will become impaired or die off. These cells normally produce dopamine. No or less dopamine being produced leads to the motor symptoms of Parkinson's. The diagnosis takes time as there are no x-rays or tests to confirm Parkinson's disease. Currently, there is no cure for Parkinson's.
